IBJJF Champion and ADCC veteran Mayssa Bastos will be going back to the ADCC World Championships, as she has been officially invited in the -55kg division. Bastos previously won the South American Trials in 2022 before losing first round at -60kg. She regularly competes at roosterweight and light-feather in IBJJF competition, 47.5 & 52.5kg.

There are only 10 athletes in 2023 who have accomplished the ultra-difficult task of winning the IBJJF Europeans, Pans, and Brasileiros, with a chance to win a world championship in just a few days. The headline bout between WNO heavyweight Champ Pedro Marinho and ADCC 2022 88kg Champion Giancarlo Bodoni has been canceled due to injury, paving the way for Brianna Ste-Marie and Mayssa Bastos to become the main event of the evening.

The athletes are weighted in and ready to go! Tonight, four men will square off to become the IBJJF FloGrappling medium heavyweight Grand Prix champion. Four women will take the mat trying to become the first ever female Grand Prix champion. The night also promises three high level superfights including many of the top ranked grapplers in the world.

As the dust settles after the 2022 ADCC World Championships, ADCC has released the winners of their four prestigious awards given out at every ADCC Worlds. The awards are for best athlete, best takedown, best match and fastest submission.
