This year's IBJJF World Championships was one of the most highly anticipated of all time. And it delivered, with amazing matchups, budding rivalries, and hours of great jiu-jitsu. In retrospect, it was also a historic year for the event. The 26th edition of IBJJF Worlds saw records broken and history made across the black belt divisions. Here are some of the most notable superlatives now in the history books.

The stacked black belt divisions have been whittled down to just eight men and just two women each. By the end of the day, nineteen IBJJF Pans black belt champions will be crowned. A truly international event with significant cash prizes at stake, the World Pro attracts decorated veterans and hopeful up and comers from across the globe. The title of World Pro Champion is one of the most coveted in all of jiu-jitsu; it’s accompanied by prestige, national pride, and thousands of dollars in prize money.

Fight to Win is back in Los Angeles, CA on Friday, August 6 for another night of grappling superfights.

Fight to Win returns to Dallas for another night of submission-only superfights with a main event featuring two of the best Masters competitors on the scene: Josh Hinger and Rafael 'Formiga' Barbosa will face off in a Masters middleweight title match. 

Grappling fans would have found UFC 258 hard to watch as two of jiu-jitsu's top representatives in the Octagon fell to their opponents. We look at what went wrong.

The biggest party in grappling will kick off a three-week visit to Dallas on Saturday, February 13 with Fight To Win 163, featuring three high-profile matches, including a gi featherweight title fight. Diego “Pato” Oliveira will try to take Kennedy Maciel’s title in the main event. Before that, brown belt submission hunter Pedro Marinho will face Matheus Luna, and Aaron Tex Johnson will take on Max Gimenis.
