We went DEEP into the vault to dig out some super-rare footage of one of the top pound-for-pound grapplers in the world when he was still a brown belt lightweight!

AJ Agazarm is no stranger to the absolute divisions but this past weekend in Denver, Colorado he decided to skip his normal competitive weight division of light-feather weight and jump up seven divisions to ultra-heavy.

The highly anticipated match between Felipe Pena and Xande Ribero at the UAEJJF Tokyo Grand Slam lived up to the hype.   Xande came out with a blistering pace, answering Felipe's guard pull with an aggressive and nearly successfully double-under pass. to back-take. Felipe  stayed calm and worked his 50/50 game to perfection, sweeping Xande two times.  Xande came close to hitting a trip, and again taking the back, but Felipe’s defense was not to be overcome.  Definitely a match worth re-watching.

Five-time IBJJF World Master champion Saulo Ribeiro put on a gutsy display last weekend in Las Vegas. He had to dig deep and rely on every ounce of his experience to overcome injury and take the gold in a tough division. Watch all of his matches below. 

Defending -77kg champion Lucas Lepri was knocked out in the first round of the 2016 Abu Dhabi World Pro in a controversial match with Luan Carvalho that originally the 2015 gold medallist declared the winner.

Gordon Ryan does it again. Much like his coach and mentor Garry Tonon, the young black belt has been on the road taking on all-comers under a variety of different rulesets. On April 3, 2016 Ryan travelled to Portland, Oregon and met 10th Planet's Nathan Orchard in a submission-only match. Video has finally surfaced and you can watch the full bout below. The Sapateiro Invitational was a no-gi event held on March 5 in Florida. Gordon Ryan, the 20-year-old jiu-jitsu black belt under Garry Tonon, Tom DeBlass and John Danaher, ripped through the opposition with four submissions.

The brown belt division at the 2016 Pans this year was full of absolute savages. Alliance's Nicholas Meregali of Brazil took home double gold when he was crowned winner of the brown belt heavyweight and absolute division.
