Giovanna came in as the #3 ranked competitor in her Brown Belt Heavyweight division, and submitted her way to the Gold medal. In the Open Class Brown Belt division she had a near perfect submission rate, and secured the Gold medal in that division as well. Here is a match-by-match breakdown of both divisions:
Heavyweight Division
Round One (Semi-Finals)
In the first minute of her match, Giovanna was able to gain top position and finish her #2 ranked opponent with a Kimura:
