The roster for the 2022 ADCC World Championships is beginning to take shape, as three of the eight qualifying trials are now complete, and one more is coming in Brazil on Saturday, February 12.

On November 11-13 the IBJJF will host the massive World Master Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Las Vegas, and over 5000 competitors have registered for a chance to win gold.

Keenan Cornelius has pulled out of WNO but one of his black belts has stepped up to replace him, and a well-known champion from the women’s divisions will make her MMA debut. Fight to Win returns to Dallas, TX for another night of grappling on Friday, June 11. In the main event, 2021 No-Gi Pan champ Kendall Reusing, will face Talita Nogueira. Earlier in the evening, the top ranked roosterweight, Lucas Pinheiro will take on multiple time world champ Paulo Miyao.

The K-guard has become a favorite position for backtake specialists and leg lockers alike over the last few years. Sometimes called the keymaster guard or shallow X-guard, the position is best recognized as the root of the illustrious matrix backtake. 

The elite competitors of the lightest weight divisions are often revered for their impassible guards and their abilities to take their opponents’ backs from anywhere. Roosterweights, light featherweights, and featherweights like Mikey Musumeci, Paulo Miyao, and Mayssa Bastos are back attack artists who rely on intricate guards and techniques to get behind their opponents.

It did not take long for registration to close for No-Gi Pans. The IBJJF announced the Pan No-Gi Championships and it has reached capacity very quickly. Here are the key names to watch in each black belt division.

The 2020 gi season is just around the corner, with the Euros kicking off on January 21. There’s an immense amount of topics to cover heading into next year, and I’m going to get out ahead of it with some early division previews.

The IBJJF World No-Gi Brackets are out, and they are available here. The black belt adult divisions will be competing on Saturday and Sunday. Of course, there are some crazy first-round matches.

December 12-15, the IBJJF will be hosting their 12th edition of the World Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship at the Anaheim Convention Center. While a few factors (ADCC burnout, points requirements and fear of the daunting first ever USADA tests at No-Gi Worlds) have led to sparsely filled black belt divisions, there are still quite a few juggernauts of the sport registered along with a solid group of newcomers doing their first major tournament at black belt.

The wait is over and the deadline has passed – we now know who's signed up for No-Gi Worlds.

Grapplefest 6 is coming to you from Liverpool, England. The settings appears to be in some sort of bar/nightclub environment with booths just a few feet from the mat. All three of the main matches are 70kg and no-gi. Up first will be Ben Eddy vs Masakazu Imanari, then Paulo Miyao vs Kamil Wilks, followed by the main event of Joao Miyao vs Frank Rosenthal.

The finals are all set: here are the gold medal matches for 2019 Abu Dhabi World Pro black belt, which will take place on April 26. 

As we enter the final leg of the UAEJJF 2017-2018 season, the final standings for the black belt rankings and $25,000 cash prize have begun to take shape.
