After 68 matches, the first day of ADCC is wrapped up, and the semifinals in each of the seven divisions are set for the start of day two.

The first two rounds were filled with upsets, wild matchups and incredible submissions. Here are the athletes who will move onto the semifinals, and how the rest of the bracket shapes up.

-60kg

Each of the top four seeds moved ahead to the semifinals in the women’s -60 kg division. Basilio and Davies, the gold and silver medalists from 2019, each won their first match via decision, while Mesquita and Ste-Marie earned points victories.

Davies vs Mesquita is an interesting ADCC rubber match in the semis, as Mesquita and Davies each has an armbar victory over the other.

+60kg

Just as in -60kg, all four favorites pushed through in the +60kg division. Rafaela Guedes and Kendall Reusing are set for a rematch of the WNO Championships, which Guedes won by submission. Both are in their first year at ADCC, and one may have a shot at the reigning queen, Gabi Garcia.

But Garcia will first have to get through Amy Campo, the rookie black belt who has made waves all season. A victory for campo would be a massive success, and could set her up for a career-making outing in her ADCC debut.

66kg

Gabriel Sousa and Diego Pato have been longtime rivals. Pato has gotten the better of the matchup in their last few encounters. Pato could also meet up with Cisneros, who he has never lost to in years of frequent matchups. But Cisneros will first have to get through Diogo Reis, whose wrestling and grit have been top notch so far in this tournament.

77kg

A wild turn of events means three of the four semifinalists in the loaded 77kg division are first timers. Dante Leon is the lone veteran in this bracket, and will face Mica Galavo in the semis in a rematch from Tezos WNO. Speaking of rematches, PJ Barch will try to get one back after a loss to Kade Ruotolo.

88kg

The 2019 silver medalists from the 77kg division, Rocha, and 99kg division, Hulk, will meet in the middle for a spot at another final. Their potential opponents: Giancarlo Bodoni and the surging Eoguan O’Flanagan. Bodoni tapped the reigning champ, Matheus Diniz, while O'Flanagan defeated Xande Ribeiro and submitted Mason Fowler.

99kg

Nicholas Meregali has entered into a sea of ADCC veterans in the semifinals. He’ll have Craig Jones first. The winner will have to take on reigning +99kg champ Kanan Duarte, or Rafael Lovato Jr, who is making his fifth appearance in the ADCC semifinals in seven tries.

+99kg

Roosevelt Sousa is left as the sole newcomer to ADCC, in a final four with two absolute champs and a 2019 silver medalist. He’ll have Gordon Ryan first. The winner will face that of an anticipated matchup between takedown specialist Nicky Rod and guard master Felipe Pena.
