21-year-old Tommy Langaker is one of the three Vikings who will face off against the Cabras da Peste (’Brazilian rednecks’) on Saturday at Copa Podio

The Norwegian comes from a long line of Vikings, and he’s infused his warrior spirit by training with some of the best jiu-jitsu practitioners in the world – in his case, the famous Mendes brothers.

A two-time medallist at the IBJJF World championships and a Nordic champion, Langaker received his brown belt from Rafael and Guilherme Mendes in 2015. Like the Mendes brothers, Langaker is an aggressive grappler who’s always on the attack.

“My game is always the same, I’m always going to be keeping the pressure, I’m always going to be attacking, never going to surrender easily and always going for the victory,” he says.

“I come from a family with a long history of Vikings. The warrior spirit has always been in my family. I’m blessed by the gods, Odin and Thor. When the Vikings arrive at Copa Podio we’re going to steal, plunder, and we’re going to go out victorious.”

The Vikings vs the Cabras da Peste will run throughout 2016, beginning with three matches at Copa Podio's Lightweight Grand Prix on January 9.
