Josh Hinger was used to being a big fish in a small pond.
It's true his journey began in the new jiu-jitsu mecca of Calfornia, but Hinger spent many of his formative training years in Arizona and Idaho – and though the training was solid, it's hard to replicate the atmosphere and results obtained by training in a world-class, competition focused gym.
So as soon as he finished up his post-grad education – and on the inviation of Andre Galvao, no less – Hinger packed up his gear and made his way down to Atos HQ in San Diego, CA to pursue his dreams of becoming a world champion.
And as the video above reveals, the transition wasn't easy.
