The Next Purple Belt Phenom: William Tackett

Here at FloGrappling we like to keep our finger on the pulse of the up and coming talent rising through the ranks. One name that has been standing out for quite some time is one of CheckMat's best kept secrets, William Tackett.

If you've been following William's trajectory you'll know he isn't new to the competition scene and has been cleaning up the circuit at the juvenile level. Now that he's seventeen and officially been promoted to purple belt we've been able to see just how good the Texas based grappler is. (Hint: he's quite good)

Over the last few months William focused his training on the ADCC qualifier events here in North America and even though he didn't win the gold medal he turned a lot of heads and impressed everyone who was paying attention. William Tackett will be a problem for anyone he competes against, at the ADCC Trials he took out DDS standout Jason Rau, veteran black belts Jams Partridge & Kevin Machecha and even seasoned ADCC competitor Enrico Cocco.
