WATCH: Yuri Simoes Makes History At No-Gi Worlds

Yuri Simoes won double gold at the 2016 IBJJF No-Gi World Championships taking the top spot in both the absolute and super heavyweight divisions. But what might be even more impressive is that he became the first person to become a 2x No-Gi World absolute champion.

Of course 2015 was a monumental year for Yuri who won the 88kg division at ADCC, beating Romulo Barral and Keenan Cornelius along the way. On sunday of the World championships he beat the 2013 absolute champion Murilo Santana and World Champion Augusto Mendes to leave no doubt about who the best no-gi grappler is.

I knew how much I work my ass off. I knew how much I was ready, I knew I could fight anybody in no-gi but this is just the final dot. Like, watch me [Expletive]
