VIDEO: Submit The Stigma Seminar At Studio 540

Two weeks ago Flograppling covered the Submit the Stigma Seminar in San Diego, CA at Studio 540. After the conclusion of the 2016 IBJJF Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championships, an ensemble cast of teachers including Romulo Barral, Caio Terra, Clark Gracie, Gianni Grippo, Abraham Marte and Kristina Barlaan gathered together to share techniques and positive vibes at the beach side academy. 

People aren't just coming here for the techniques, I think a lot of people understand the cause as well.

Submit the Stigma is committed to raising awareness within the jiu-jitsu community that promotes education, discussion and support for mental illness and those who are affected. The goal is to make mental health as important as physical health--to make mental well-being a priority. Check out the exclusive video from the packed seminar to hear more about their mission.

These problems exist and we need to support each other, love each other, be more open and tolerant and more willing to help.

All proceeds of the seminar went to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, an organization that provides support for people living with and education for those with friends or loved ones affected by mental illness.
