2009: Set in Barcelona, Spain, the ADCC 2009 World Championships saw Braulio Estima conquer double gold in 88kg and the absolute division - beating Andre Galvao and Xande Ribeiro in the process.
Rafael Mendes captured his first ADCC world title, becoming the youngest ever athlete to complete the feat; among the more shocking results included Pablo Popovitch’s win over Marcelo Garcia in the 77kg final.
2011: In Nottingham, England, Andre Galvao proved to be the man of the tournament after capturing double gold at 88kg and the absolute category; he has remained undefeated in the super fight since then.

WATCH: Marcelo Garcia came roaring back after taking silver in 2009 and defeated the legendary Leo Vieira at 77kg to capture his fourth and final ADCC gold medal.
Dean lister shocked the world when he captured three heel hook submission victories on his way to the -99kg title.

Kyra Gracie cemented her legacy as one of the best to ever do it when she captured her third world title.

2015: This was the last time we saw the ADCC championships take over Brazil. Set in Sao Paulo, this edition saw Davi Ramos claim his place in ADCC history after a dominant performance at 77kg, submitting both Gilbert Burns and Lucas Lepri.
Rodolfo Vieira smashed his way through the 99kg category with superior wrestling and pressure.
Orlando Sanchez became one of 10 Americans to capture gold at the ADCC World Championships.
