The event features Victor Hugo vs Tim Spriggs, Osvaldo Queixinho Moizinho vs Gabriel Sousa, Thiago Macedo vs Cole Franson, Pedro Marinho vs Jake Watson and more.
Victor Hugo was the 2019 IBJJF World No-Gi absolute champion, while Spriggs took gold in the heavyweight division that same day. There will be a size difference of at least 70lbs between them, with Hugo walking around at least 265lb. The match will be no-gi and will be held under Fight to Win's submission-only ruleset with three judges rendering a decision if it goes the distance.
Osvaldo Queixinho Moizinho steps in at the last minute to replace the injured Kennedy Maciel and will take on Gabriel Sousa. Originally slated to be a lightweight title match, Sousa will have to wait for his chance to challenge for Kennedy's title.
Pedro Marinho will make his black belt debut this weekend against Jake Watson in a gi match. Gracie Barra's Marinho was promoted to black belt on March 13 by his coach Ulpiano Malachias but has competed in mixed-belt events such as 3CG Kumite and of course no-gi events including KASAI and ADCC.
Fight to Win 167 starts on Mar 20, 2021.
