JitzKing is back with an exciting 16-man middleweight tournament, with $5,000 on the line. The tournament is no-gi, with six minute matches that utilize an ADCC style of scoring where the first half of the match has no points. Besides the middleweight tournament, there will be seven superfights which should make for an exciting night in Florida. Here is the bracket -

Caleb Tackett vs Tristan Sainz
A little no-gi orange belt action to start the night, featuring the first of three Tackett brothers competing at JitzKing.
They both look intent to wrestle to start things out. Sainz gets in on a snatch single, a scramble ensues and Tackett ends up on the back with one hook in. Sainz gets his back to the mat and puts Tackett in half guard, he is flattened out though. Sainz backrolls to come on top, takes the back and locks on a RNC! Quick escape by Tackett and he is on top in closed guard.
They reset to the center with Sainz still playing closed guard. Sainz is really going after the shoulder crunch from closed guard on Tackett's left arm. Tackett opens the guard and starts attempting to pass standing, another backroll sweep by Sainz to go up 2-0!
Tackett ends up back on top and is flattening Sainz out in halfguard, the score tied at 2-2. Sainz tried to go to deep half, Tackett locks on a cradle and uses it to pass to side control, 5-2 Tackett. Time expires with Tackett still in top side control.
Result: Caleb Tackett defeats Tristan Sainz 5-2
Jason Rau vs JB Bechtloff
First round action, Jason Rau of Serra BJJ vs JB Bechtloff of Pedigo Submission Fighting.
Rau sits guard immediately. JB drops to his knees and Rau is attempting an armdrag. Rau switches to the other arm and is inverting with a kimura grip, but JB slips out and stands.
Rau finally gets in on the legs and finishes quickly with an outside heelhook.
Result: Jason Rau defeats JB Bechtloff by heelhook
Pedro Marinho vs David Garmo
Both of these guys are dangerous with their guillotines. A little wrestling to start things off. Marinho gets a snap down and locks on a guillotine, they hit the ground but Garmo scrambles back to his feet and eventually escapes.
After a couple minutes of circling, Garmo shoots and Marinho locks on another guillotine, eventually getting the finish on the ground.
Result: Pedro Marinho defeats David Garmo by guillotine
William Tackett vs Jay Jay Wilson
Bellator vet Wilson vs returning JitsKing champ Tackett.
Tackett gets on the back quickly from a scramble, locks up a body triangle and is attacking a RNC. Tackett has been on Wilson's back for a few minutes now, controlling with the body triangle but Wilson is defending well.
Tackett went after an arm triangle and Jay Jay escapes, ending up on top in closed guard. Time expires 0-0 and we are going to overtime.
Overtime has a golden score rule, first to score wins. Tackett pulls immediately and Jay Jay goes after a footlock. Tackett counters with a calf slicer of his own.
Jay Jay goes after a toe hold, Tackett uses a berimbolo to come on top and get the back.
Result: William Tackett defeats Jay Jay Wilson 6-0 in overtime
Roberto Jimenez vs Yuri Villefort
20 year old Roberto vs the MMA veteran Villefort.
Roberto comes out firing, jumps closed guard, attacks and armbar and then switches to a triangle. Roberto gets the tap in under a minute and advances to the quarters!
The quarterfinals so far are Jason Rau vs Pedro Marinho and William Tackett vs Roberto Jimenez.
Result: Roberto Jimenez defeats Yuri Villefort by triangle
Sofia Delgado vs Alana Delva
Sofia pulls quick and works her way to the back with one hook in. She gets the other hook and has the choke on with her arm under the chin. Nice escape by Alana to come on top, Sofia switches to a kimura immediately.
Sofia sweeps with the kimura to come on top, she ends up back on the bottom but is now attacking an armbar. Alana escapes again and has Sofia in a headlock, but Sofia reverses and ends up in top half guard.
Sofia attacks another submission, rolling to a triangle from the top. Sofia transitions to a tight armbar but Alana with yet another escape. Time expires with Sofia attacking another armbar and we are going to overtime.
Low single by Sofia to start off the OT. She puts the head outside and turns it into a double leg, Alana secures a guillotine on the way down to avoid giving up the two points. Under a minute and Sofia needs to free her head to win, she does and gets the W 2-0.
Result: Sofia Delgado defeats Alana Delva 2-0 in overtime
Valdir Araujo vs Johnny Tama
The ADCC vet "BB Monster" vs 2019 No-Gi World champ Tama.
Johnny sits guard to start things off. Johnny eventually gets a k guard entry but Valdir slips out and is back to standing. Valdir passing from his knees for a while and Johnny playing butterfly guard as we enter the points period. Time expires without anything happening and we are going to overtime.
Johnny pulled without a grip and gets warned by the referee and stood back up, but he gets the pull soon after.
Johnny spins under from RLDR, Valdir gets a front headlock but they soon disconnect. Valdir trying to stack as the clock runs down, he gets close but we are going to a second overtime.
Tama attempts a shot that brings the action out of bounds. Valdir quickly shoots on the reset and gets the points to win 2-0 in overtime.
Result: Valdir Araujo defeats Johnny Tama 2-0 in overtime
John Combs vs Jake Watson
Watson sits to start things off. Watson with a heavily taped left ankle and is playing seated guard while Combs passes standing.
Watson sweeps but we are still in the no points period. Watson went for a guillotine and Combs comes on top, still no points. Watson playing De La Riva and looks to berimbolo. Now we are in the points period.
Combs locks on a guillotine and uses it to pass to mount, getting the tap from the mounted guillotine soon after.
Combs will fight Valdir Araujo in his quarterfinal.
Result: John Combs defeats Jake Watson by guillotine
Corban Sainz v Tony Torres
Purple belt action here. I'm assuming that Sainz is the brother of the kid who lost in the first match of the night.
Flying armbar from Sainz to start things out, Torres slips out though. Sainz going after the legs immediately after. Sainz with a quick tap from a kneebar.
Result: Corban Sainz defeats Tony Torres by kneebar
Alan Sanchez vs Benji Silva
Silva jumps closed guard to start things out. He eventually hits a hip bump to mount, we are in the no points period so it is still 0-0.
Alan gets out and is playing SLX. Outside heel hook attempt by Sanchez but Benji rolls out and clears his knee.
Silve passes and forces Sanchez to turtle, Sanchez gets his back to the floor though and is playing half guard again. Another close pass attempt by Silva but Sanchez inverts while Silva is in north south and gets his guard back in time.
Time expires and we are in overtime. Sanchez sits right away. Silva forces another turtle from a torreando pass, Sanchez again gets back to half guard. Still 0-0 and we are headed to a second overtime.
Sanchez sits to start the second OT. Nothing much happens in the second OT, Silva takes the first referee decision of the night.
Result: Benji Silva defeats Alan Sanchez by referee decision
Oliver Taza vs Gabriel Castro
This is the final first round match of the tournament.
Taza pulls to start things off, eventually getting to closed guard. Taza enters the legs, gets a bite on an outside heelhook but Castro rolls out of bounds.
Taza pulls off the reset, Castro nearly passes but we are in the no points period still. Taza back to closed guard. More legwork and Taza is working an inside heelhook but Castro escapes.
0-0 at the end of regulation and we are in overtime. Taza pulls right away. In on the legs and going after an inside heelhook.
Taza gets the tap with a kneebar and will have Benji Silva in the quarters.
Result: Oliver Taza defeats Gabriel Castro by kneebar
Andrew Tackett v Caio Matias
Our first gi match of the night and the third Tackett brother to compete. Andrew is a blue belt and is matched up with a purple belt here.
Tackett pulls and shoots a triangle right away, gets the tap with an armbar less than a minute in.
Result: Andrew Tackett defeats Caio Matias by armbar
Jason Rau vs Pedro Marinho
Rau sits to guard to start things off. Marinho trying to stack Rau right away. Cartwheel pass by Pedro forces Rau to turtle.
Marinho with one hook and attempting to finish a RNC. They roll into the scoreboard TV and reset in the middle. Close call for Rau there.
Rau now playing a seated guard against the standing Marinho. Marinho gets close on a couple knee cuts but Rau is able to recompose guard every time.
Marinho forces a turtle but Rau stands and pulls again shortly thereafter. Pedro passes with a side smash inside the last 30 seconds to get the win.
Result: Pedro Marinho defeats Jason Rau 3-0
William Tackett vs Roberto Jimenez
One of the most anticipated matches of the night right here.
Tackett pulls guard and goes after a leg entry, Roberto counters with a berimbolo and ends up in a side smash position.
Roberto has the underhook and cross face, Tackett is in a tough spot here. We are still in the no points period however. Tackett is able to frame and get back to his open guard.
Roberto attempts a knee cut but Tackett inverts to maintain his guard.
Roberto knee cuts as soon as the points period begins, but Tackett inverts to attack the legs. Roberto to the side smash again but Tackett escapes.
Tackett in on a heel hook but Roberto looks pretty calm. More solid heelhook attempts by Tackett with Roberto escaping every time.
Roberto hits a knee cut pass with under 20 seconds on the clock to win 3-0!
Roberto will have Pedro Marinho in the semis.
Result: Roberto Jimenez defeats William Tackett 3-0
John Combs vs Valdir Araujo
Both guys wrestling to start the match. Not much happening for the first couple minutes of the match.
Combs hits a great double leg out of bounds, Valdir scrambles to his feet to avoid giving up the 2.
Combs shoots but Valdir locks up a cradle to counter and get the 2. 2-0 Araujo.
Combs back to his feet and in on another shot, he finishes the single and it is 2-2.
Combs looking for a guillotine from top but Valdir bridges out and they are back on their feet.
Valdir hits a double, Combs with a deep guillotine but Valdir is out and up 4-2.
Valdir rides out the last minute in Combs closed guard to get the win.
Result: Valdir Araujo defeats John Combs 4-2
Benji Silva vs Oliver Taza
The winner of this match will get Valdir Araujo in the semis.
Quick work here, Taza gets in and finished an inside heelhook in about 30 seconds.
Result: Oliver Taza defeats Benji Silva by heelhook
Orlando Castillo vs Raphael Cadena
Second gi match of the night.
Double pull to start the match. They stay here forever, neither athlete wanting to come up to pass.
Orlando eventually gets to half guard and Cadena comes on top. Cadena working a knee cut with the underhook as time expires and we go to OT 0-0.
Cadena comes up to pass in OT with Orlando playing half guard again. Orlando goes for a Lucas Leite style roll and ends up with closed guard after. Nothing much happens and we are in double overtime.
There is a double pull and Orlando comes on top. Cadena hits a single leg to win 2-0.
Result: Raphael Cadena defeats Orlando Castillo 2-0 in double overtime.
Pedro Marinho vs Roberto Jimenez
Classic rivalry here as these guys have fought a bunch of times over the last year. Roberto tapped Pedro in the gi just last week.
Roberto pulls guard and starts playing De La Riva. Roberto comes up on a bofylock, Pedro locks up a guillotine but Roberto escapes and finishes the takedown.
Pedro quickly jumps on the leg and finishes the match with a heelhook to make it to the finals.
Result: Pedro Marinho defeats Roberto Jimenez by heelhook
Valdir Araujo vs Oliver Taza
Taza pulls and gets to a half butterfly to start off. Valdir is conscious of the leg entries and keeping his hips back.
Taza gets to the saddle and is attacking an inside heelhook but Valdir escapes.
Taza nearly sweeps from SLX then enters to his leg attacks from the position. Attacking an outside heelhook but Valdir escapes again.
Valdir is defending well as Taza nearly sweeps and continues to threaten the legs. Taza inverts and attacks a heelhook but can not finish it, we are going to overtime.
Their heads collide off a shot from Taza and we are having a medical break. After we get going Taza pulls and nearly hits a hook sweep, but Valdir scrambles out again. The second overtime expires as Taza is attacking a kneebar.
Result: Oliver Taza defeats Valdir Araujo by referee decision
Kody Steele vs Mauricio Gomez
Last match before the tournament final.
Snatch single from Kody and he finishes it strong. Kody rolls for an anaconda choke but Mauricio escapes.
Kody forces turtle off a pass, rolls for the back and has one hook in. Mauricio gets his back to the mat and recovers his guard.
Mauricio comes up on a single leg and can win this if he finishes, it's a great scramble but they end up out of bounds.
We are in overtime. Kody shoots and ends up in a front headlock. He ducks under and turns it into a double leg, but lands in a guillotine.
Kody needs to free his head in the next 30 seconds or we are going to a second overtime. He does and takes the W.
Result: Kody Steele defeats Mauricio Gomez 2-0 in overtime
Oliver Taza vs Pedro Marinho
$5,000 on the line in this one.
Taza looks prepared to stand and wrestle with Marinho. After a couple minutes he sits but stands again soon after.
Marinho throwing some foot sweeps but failing to connect. Taza has pulled a couple times but stands back up every time.
Nice double leg gets Oliver down to make it 2-0. Taza stand again and pulls not long after.
Marinho is up 2-0 and keeps disengaging, the ref gives him a warning. 30 seconds left.
A near pass from Marinho inside the last 15 seconds but not enough to get the 3 points.
Time expires and Marinho wins 2-0 to become the new JitzKing champion.
Result: Pedro Marinho defeats Oliver Taza 2-0
