Monday: Garry Tonon
On and off of the mats, there's no denying that Garry Tonon is one of jiu-jitsu's boldest personalities.
Expect a deep dive into Tonon's origin in the sport, what it was like to meet John Danaher and become one of the most important members of the DDS, match breakdowns, and a whole lot more.
Tue: Jeff Glover & Pete 'The Greek' Letsos
Without a doubt, this is going to be one of the rowdiest episodes we've ever featured on WNO.
Jeff Glover and Pete "the Greek" Letsos have a slightly warped sensibility, and the conversation is guaranteed to reach the far corners of grappling history and probably extend well beyond. These are two figures who have watched jiu-jitsu explode in the United States, and a conversation with the two of them will be insightful for anyone who wants to know a bit more about the history of jiu-jitsu in America.
Thur: Rafael Lovato Jr. & Xande Ribeiro
Certain to be an instant classic, we have two old friends jointing us on Thursday in Rafael Lovato Jr. and Xande Ribeiro. The historical impact these two figures have had no jiu-jitsu is immeasurable, and both have transitioned from competitor to cultural leaders of our sport.
Expect some great stories of the old days, technical breakdowns, and thoughts on where jiu-jitsu is heading next.
Fri: Lucas Leite
Lucas Leite is one of the rare athletes whose technical innovations have found a home in basically every single jiu-jitsu practitioner's toolkit.
The father of the modern half guard, Leite transformed a position that used to be disparagingly referred to as "half-passed" to a multi-faceted weapon. A three-time no-gi world champion and silver medalist in the gi, Leite has achieved success at the highest levels of the game, and we're looking forward to picking the brain of this legendary fighter.
