#20 P4P Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa vs #17 P4P Kyle Boehm
One of the biggest mysteries heading into the 2020 no-gi season is Kyle Boehm. Kyle made waves last year after an incredible first year at blackbelt taking notable wins over some of the no-gi elite. The climax to his stellar year was winning the BJJ Fanatics Invitational where he took down stars like Aaron "Tex" Johnson and Lucas "The Hulk" Barbosa. Boehm rose quickly through the ranks ultimately earning him a spot in our P4P rankings. Skeptics are wondering if Kyle is here to stay or was 2019 a fluke. A second win over ATOS golden boy will be sure to silence any doubt and reinforce his position in the no-gi scene.
#5 99+ Cyborg vs #4 99+ Nick Rodriguez
This rematch is inevitable and fans are thrilled to see this explosive rematch possibly take place at KASAI 7. Nick Rodriguez made a name for himself at ADCC 2019 after defeating seasoned powerhouse competitors like Cyborg and Mahamed Aly. Cyborg was outraged by the referee's decision and told Rodriguez matside that he did not win the match. A rematch gives these two the opportunity to settle their beef and a well-deserved jump in the rankings.
#5 99 Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa vs #5 99+ Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu
The last time we saw these two in action was at the 2019 IBJJF Heavyweight Grand Prix in Las Vegas. It was hands down the most explosive matchup of the tournament and got fans on the edge of their seats. Both competitors constantly took shots on each other and Cyborg even got a few suplexes in. This matchup is exactly what KASAI wants to promise fans who are there to see heavyweights battle it out.
#7 99 Vinny Magalhaes vs #17 P4P Kyle Boehm
If there's going to be a highly technical footlocker battle, it's going to be coming from these two monsters. Both have had experience training at 10th Planet with Eddie Bravo and understand the leglock game inside in out. We have never seen them matchup before so its a mystery who has the upper hand here.
#9 99 kg Patrick Gaudio vs #8 99+ kg Joao Rocha
Fans were disappointed the last time these guys met at the 2019 IBJJF Heavyweight Grand Prix. Spectators were put through a very uneventful match and are demanding more from two high caliber athletes. KASAI is their opportunity to bounce back from their lackluster performance and make sparks fly on the main stage.
