Jake Shields scored some accidental takedown points during the main event of Fight 2 Win 98 on Saturday night, but it didn’t stop him from winning the unanimous decision.
Facing Ron Keslar in the main event of the evening, Shields shot a blast double that put Kelsar down –- and knocked referee Nick Greene off the stage!
Greene disappeared into the crowd while Shields and Keslar fought on. With the help of some members of the audience he jumped back up on stage and carried on, and it appeared neither Shields or Keslar noticed.
The match continued as you'd expect. Shields on top, playing his grinding pressure game. Keslar attempted high guard but Shields passed to side, spending the majority of the match in top position. Keslar recovered with 10 seconds left but it was too late to mount any kind of attack.
Shields was awarded the unanimous decision by the referees and became the F2W masters middleweight no-gi champion.
The next F2W event is Fight 2 Win 99 in Scottsdale, Arizone, on Jan. 26. Watch it LIVE or On Demand ONLY on FloGrappling.
