In July 2018 the FloGrappling team visited Tokyo for the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. We vlogged the best bits, which included video games, the swanky shopping district and – of course – plenty of jiu-jitsu.

Day 1: Jiu-Jitsu & Shopping for Yeezys

We meet up with Gutemberg Pereira and Reda Mebtouche for some training at Carpe Diem gym and we go sneaker shopping in Harajuku, the famous Japanese fashion district. 

Day 2: Video Games & Jiu-Jitsu in Japan

We visit the incredible neighborhoods of Akihabara and Shibuya in Tokyo to see what the city looks like at night. We play some Tekken and go shopping for nunchuks before visiting the famous jiu-jitsu gym Paraestra, founded by MMA and BJJ legend Yuki Nakai. We see world champion Rikako Yuasa training and catch up with British black belts Samantha Cook and Bradley Hill.

Day 3: Behind The Scenes 2018 Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tokyo

After walking through a minor typhoon we make it to the weigh-ins for the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in Tokyo.
