The ultra-competitive 85kg division final is set for November 18. at the Abu Dhabi Rio de Janeiro Grand Slam. 

2017 champ Isaque Bahiense will aim to repeat his success at last year's ADGS Rio. Standing in his way is Diego Ramalho of ZR Team, the no.2-ranked male black belt in the 2018-2019 UAEJJF ranking. 

Bahiense had four matches, submitting Raimundo Italo and Ryan Silva and outscoring William Martins and Matheus Sousa. Bahiense racked up 18 points in those four matches, with his shortest match only 1.26 long. 

Ramalho had three matches, beating Bradley Hill 4-2, Edjohnson Andrade 0-0, 1-0, and submitting Henrique Moreira with an ankle lock in less than a minute. 

Bahiense and Ramalho have met once, in June of this year at the IBJJF World Championships. Bahiense won via north-south choke and went on to become 2018 World champion. Since then Ramalho became champion in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in Tokyo and took 3rd place in Los Angeles.
