The fans have spoken and the encounter chosen as Best Match from the King of Mats Los Angeles was deemed to be between Erberth Santos (ranked no.10 in the FloGrappling pound-for-pound ranking) and Jackson Sousa (no.11-ranked heavyweight). 

The two faced off twice at the King of Mats Los Angeles, culminating in a showdown in the final that saw Erberth crowned overall winner. 

The match that earned the honors was from the earlier round-robin stage of the event. Sousa and Santos traded takedowns, Santos with his sacrifice throw / hook sweep and Sousa with a snapdown to a tackle. The Checkmat black belt was the only competitor to score points against Santos in the whole tournament. 

Fans chose Sousa and Santos's bout with an overwhelming 66% of the vote. Both Santos and Sousa will earn a bonus of $1,000 from the event organizers as a prize.
