Fight 2 Win 90 went down tonight in front of a packed house in Philadelphia, Pa.
There were more than a dozen incredible matches on the card this evening, but everyone were keenly interested in two matches: the main event featuring ADCC champion JT Torres and F2W challenger Dylan Royce, and the co-main event between Baret Yoshida – another ADCC medalist – and hometown hero Kristian Woodmanse.
Let's begin the with main course.
There's no doubt that Torres came into this match the favorite, but Dylan Royce proved he was absolutely deserving to be on the same stage as the American superstar. He survived several of JT's early attacks, including what appeared to be a fully-cranked omoplata and several deep collar chokes.
Unfortunately for Royce though, JT's positional game and pressure is among the best in the world, and the Atos star was able to impose his will all the way until the 2-minute mark when he switched from knee on belly to a step over armbar finish, securing the win and retaining the welterweight F2W title.
Baret Yoshida Crucifex Game Deadly as Ever
Baret Yoshida proved tonight that he's still among the most skilled bantamweight athletes on the competition circuit today. The Arena MMA representative was able to skillfully navigate Woodmansee's modern guard and inverted attacks, eventually finding his way to the place he loves most: the crucifix. Once Baret secured his favorite position it was the beginning of the end, cycling through various choke attempts until he was able to finish the match with an anaconda, becoming the F2W bantamweight no-gi champion.
