ADCC runs trials events in pairs, typically hosting events on contrasting locations in each region (ex: East and West Coast Trials in North America) in hopes of making the trails as accessible as possible.  

Given that the location for the first Europeans trials is in Romania, a south-eastern European nation, we’ll be privy some of the very best grapplers from nations like Russia, Georgia, and the Middle East (they have been granted access to European trials), along with western European athletes making treck across the Mediterranean countries to try and secure their spot at ADCC 2019.

With that comes an admittedly sparse information about a great many of the athletes set to compete this weekend- many don’t even have jiu-jitsu backgrounds – and instead have competed in other grappling disciplines like wrestling, sambo, and general submission wrestling events.  But even so, we are confident in identifying several athletes from each division that we believe are sure to shake things up and land somewhere on the podium this weekend.
