KASAI Elite Grappling Championships (KASAI) announced that Gianni Grippo and Paulo Miyao will compete in the World Featherweight Championship Tournament at ‘KASAI Pro 4’ on Saturday, November 10. 

“We are very excited to have Paulo and Gianni in our tournament” said KASAI CEO Rich Byrne. “They are two of the best grapplers in the world at any weight class. Their last few matches have been decided by razor thin margins. KASAI will set the stage for them to settle the score”.

Grippo is a student of iconic four-time ADCC champion Marcelo Garcia. He has earned several gi and no-gi IBJJF championship at various belt levels, most recently becoming a three-time IBJJF Pan American Gi & No-Gi Champion this year. Grippo also took third-place in KASAI’s inaugural World Lightweight Championship tournament at ‘KASAI Pro 1’back in December 2017. 

Miyao is a black belt under Cicero Costha, training out of Unity Jiu-Jitsu in NYC. He is an IBJJF Black Belt World Champion and IBJJF Pan American Champion. Considered a phenom of the sport since his teens, Paulo and his brother Joao have conquered all major BJJ titles while coming up the ranks.

KASAI Pro 4 features an 8-man 145lb round-robin tournament to decide a featherweight champion. Matches are no-gi and six-minutes long with all submissions allowed.
