Atos teammates JT Torres and Michael Liera Jr. closed out the black belt lightweight division at the 2018 IBJJF Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Irvine, California, on Sunday, furthering the team’s considerable lead in the team points ranking. 

Torres was expecting to face Michael Langhi in the semifinal, but his Alliance rival did not compete due to an injury. Torres submitted Alex Molinaro and Breno Bittencourt and defeated Espen Mathiesen 12-0 to place in the final. 

On the other side of the bracket, Liera Jr. faced off with Kauan Barbosa of Carlson Gracie, Francisco "Sinistro" Iturralde of Del Mar and Vitor Oliveira of GF Team to place in the final. Liera Jr. beat Barbosa via points, Iturralde via submission, and Oliveira via referee’s decision after a 4-4 tie.
