Fight To Win Pro Back With A BANG: Bendo vs Agazarm
Fight to Win Pro is back with a bang on Friday, June 23. See Ben Henderson go up against AJ Agazarm!
It's been a couple of weeks since we've been treated to a Fight to Win Pro show, but they're coming back with a bang on Friday, June 23.
The Scottsdale, Arizona event will feature former UFC champion Benson Henderson and 2014 no-gi world champion AJ Agazarm in a gi match for the main event.
Although he's mainly known for his accomplishments in mixed martial arts, Henderson is also an accomplished jiu-jitsu practitioner. He took third at Worlds in 2011 as a brown belt, and in 2014, he did it again as a black belt, this time at No-Gi Worlds. Henderson is also one of the many UFC and Bellator veterans who's already competed for F2W Pro; way back in September of last year, he submitted Jay Pages with a rear naked choke at F2W Pro 12.
If Henderson wants an easy victory, though, he's not going to get it with Agazarm. This two-time ADCC veteran has an extensive win record, and in his last Fight to Win appearance, even a kneebar from Garry Tonon that had audience members wincing wasn't enough to tap him out within the time limit. His constant participation in high-level jiu-jitsu tournaments is sure to be beneficial for him even against a tough opponent like Henderson.
With a main event with this much star power and a co-main event featuring Flavio Almeida and Diogo Araujo, Fight to Win Pro 27 is going to make Arizona even hotter.
