In addition to some heavy-hitting big name grapplers, the ADCC Trials in Anaheim, California this weekend are also drawing some fresh up-and-coming talent. Remember the guy who pulled off that sick Imanari roll to heel hook last February at the Fight 2 Win Pro 24 in Los Angeles? Yeah, he'll be there, too.

And the 25-year-old 10th Planet HQ brown belt is looking to pick off his opponents one-by-one… teammate or otherwise.

I'm going in there trying to destroy you. As fast as possible. I'm not looking for a war. We're hitmen. We're trying to take each other out.

Castelle compete at the 1st ADCC North American Trials in November of last year, but lost by points to teammate Sean Applegate. Justin Raider, black belt under Rafael Lovato Jr., won the coveted ticket in the 66kg division.

"It sucks that I had to go against my teammate," Castelle said. "But that's alright. It's all a part of the game."

This trials will be no different. With 12 competitors entered from the Freak Brothers' teams, another five from 10th Planet HQ, and likely several more from other affiliates, the brackets will be heavily peppered with 10th Planet athletes.

"It's going to be a 10th Planet war zone," Castelle said. Indeed, Castelle said the competitors he's most looking forward to fighting are his own teammates: "My 10th Planet homies," he laughed. "My homies that I've lost to. I want to avenge those losses."
But he said he's ready for anyone.

"I'm not going to call anybody out, but I want to go against the best 145'ers out there. Whoever I'm put against, they better come with a full game," he said.

And while he might have made headlines with his heel hook, Castelle suggests his opponents expect anything.

I'm a well-rounded grappler. It's really what you're going to give me. I do Imanari a lot, and if I can tell you don't understand the motion, you're going to get Imanari'd.
