The MMA legend Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson has earned his black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu from Professors Bibano Fernandes and Yan McCane. This promotion comes not just after a long and remarkable MMA career - including some of the most impressive grappling finishes in history - but also a recent conversion to gi jiu-jitsu competition.

He made the announcement via Instagram;

Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson is one of the most successful mixed martial artists ever, posting a 25-4-1 record to date in the cage. Last year, he added to his impressive collection of accomplishments by putting on the gi and winning the IBJJF Masters World Championships at brown belt, then turning around and winning gold-silver at this year's Pan championships.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a grappling martial art that draws its roots to classic judo, where participants engage in ground combat with the goal of submitting each other. it regularly takes upwards of a decade of training to receive a black belt in this art.
