World champions Bernardo Faria and Gordon Ryan will be teaming up to hold a benefit seminar for Marcelo Garcia in Las Vegas, NV, taking place the same week as the upcoming IBJJF Master World Championships (on August 30th at Xtreme Couture). The Fight On seminar will be raising money for Marcelo's fight against cancer, after he announced his stomach cancer diagnosis earlier this year, and registration is currently open for the event.

Bernardo Faria is a long-time student of Marcelo, having won 5 black belt world championships under his guidance as an Alliance athlete. Bernardo has gone on to found BJJ Fanatics, one of the most successful companies in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The half guard/over under master has helped spread grappling knowledge through his personal youtube and Fanatics, creating platforms for hundreds of athletes to share their insights and systems with the world.

Gordon Ryan, BJJ Fanatics's highest-selling champion, will be joining Bernardo in giving back with his time and expertise. In recognition of all that Marcelo has done for the sport, and as someone who suffers from a debilitating stomach illness, Gordon helped set up the seminar. He had this to say on Instagram;

I reached out to BJJ Fanatics a few months ago and asked to teach a seminar with Bernardo, and to film that seminar. 100% of the proceeds from the seminar will go to Marcelo to help with his treatment and the recording of the seminar will be for sale on BJJ Fanatics thereafter, with 100% of proceeds going to Marcelo as well.
