John Danaher Finally Takes Off The Rashguard!?
Today is a historic day for the jiu-jitsu community. John Danaher has finally opted to change out of his beloved rashguard.
John Danaher has finally opted to remove his rash guard for more traditional torso attire.
What do the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, the stock market crash of 1929, and other significant events like this have in common? They are monumental moments in history that have defined decades, shaped cultures, and lived in history for generations.
Today we are adding another date to this list of historical moments.
January 18, 2023: The day John Danaher has finally opted to wear a normal shirt.
I know what you are thinking: 'there’s no way. It can’t be. Danaher would never do such a thing.' Well my friend, I am just as shocked as you are. Before we get to what finally caused this earth shaking change, let’s look at a couple of the best moments from Danaher’s dedication to the rash guard.
Here is Professor Danaher rocking a fresh rashie on a casual, rainy December night in Boston.
This one comes with a bonus cheeky Danaher smile.
It wouldn’t be a beach day in Puerto Rico without throwing on that special beach rashie. Here is John enjoying the island life a little bit.
According to urban legend, the New Wave Jiu-Jitsu coach once wore a rashguard to a wedding.
It doesn’t matter the elements or disputation, John Danaher is known for always wearing a rash guard (and usually a fanny pack). But the day has finally came where John has decided that the rash guard has met its match.
So what was it that made John opt for a more traditional top? Without further ado, I present to you Danaher in a regular shirt.
Go leave a comment and show some love for Danaher's new look.
Danaher received a fresh All Blacks rugby jersey from a student, and that is what it took for him to finally change out of the rash guard.
I didn’t know how to feel about this at first, but I have to say, I think the jersey is a good look for John. Here is what John had to say about it on his Instagram post debuting the new look:
“Oh yeah!! Just finished teaching a jiu jitsu seminar in Brisbane Australia and a very generous student gave me a New Zealand All Blacks rugby jersey!! Screw the rash guard - I’m wearing THIS home!!”
This new look does leave me with one thought. Are we going to see John Danaher become a training in a t-shirt guy? Only time will tell…
